The elves broke ground on a factory new,
Big plans, big lines, and big orders too.
The walls went up, the floors they did pour,
New equipment arrived by truckloads galore.
The contractor smiled. “You’re all set to go.”
But one elf blinked slow… then another said, “No.
These presses, conveyors, every single robot,
How will we monitor if they work right or not?”
No plan for vibration. No sensors in sight.
No way to see problems if something’s not right.
A quiet small shake, a drift out of line,
Could halt all production right at crunch-time.
So the elves made a call before power was on,
“SDI? Please help! What can you ship before dawn?”
SDI answered quick with helpful, good cheer,
“We’ve got accelerometers to send you right here.”
They talked through the loads and the frequency range,
What mattered at startup and what might get strange.
Accelerometers to work hard, their signals stay true,
For years of operation, not break on day two.
They installed them on every belt and machine,
Frames, robot arms, even places unseen.
They watched every tremor, every slight sway,
And fixed issues before they could ruin a day.
The factory launched smooth, on schedule, on time,
With fewer surprises and perfect uptime.
Santa called out with a joyful chef’s kiss,
“Everyone at SDI is on the nice list!”
Happy Holidays from all of us at Silicon Designs! Stay tuned for Part 2, where the elves head to university to sharpen their skills.
