About Silicon Designs, Inc.
For 40 years, Silicon Designs Inc. has been at the forefront of accelerometer technology, pioneering compact, durable, and cost-effective solutions designed for accuracy in dynamic, high-impact conditions. Our commitment to high precision accelerometers ensures reliability for industries where precision is non-negotiable.
Built for Performance, Engineered for Reliability
In 1983, Silicon Designs Inc. was founded just outside of Seattle, Washington, with a clear mission: to redefine MEMS accelerometer technology. At the time, industrial-grade accelerometers were bulky, fragile, and expensive, limiting their application in critical industries. SDI identified this gap and set out to create low noise accelerometers that delivered precision down to zero Hz while maintaining affordability and durability.
Advancing Sensor Technology with Customer-Centric R&D
From the beginning, SDI has prioritized research and development, continuously refining sensor fabrication and packaging techniques. This has allowed us to enhance product reliability, ensuring that every accelerometer meets the exacting standards of industries such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications.
What sets SDI apart is our integrated approach. With engineering, production, testing, and sales all housed within a single U.S. facility, we foster a culture of rapid innovation. Product enhancements don’t just happen in a lab—they evolve through direct customer feedback, ensuring that we address real-world challenges with every iteration of our technology.
