Silicon Designs, Inc. today announced the appointment of the Istanbul-based Elektro Elektronik San Ve Tic As (Elektro) as its exclusive authorized distributor in Turkey for all of the company’s product lines effective June 2020.
Since 1979, Elektro has been supplying semiconductor, passive, and electromechanical components, including sensors, switches, and inertial measurement units, to aerospace, OEM, and industrial equipment customers in Turkey, and via its role as experienced technical sales representatives for some of the industry’s top manufacturers. In addition, Elektro is both an ISO 9001 and TRACE certified manufacturer of its own product technologies.
Silicon Designs was founded in 1983 with the goal of improving the accepted design standard for MEMS DC accelerometers and chips. At that time, industrial-grade accelerometers were bulky, highly fragile, and costly. The engineering team at Silicon Designs listened to the needs of its customers who required more compact, sensitive, rugged, and reasonably priced MEMS DC accelerometer modules and chips, yet which also offered higher performance for a lower overall cost per measurement channel.
