1210 Lowest cost analog accelerometer chip.  Supports higher g ranges to provide a greater selection of models. 
1221 VBR compensated for greater accuracy at higher frequencies.  Lower noise than 1210.  Internally temperature compensated for wider temperature operation.  External pin allows for temperature monitoring.
